Two partners – several years past their retirement age – were looking for a suitable party to take over their client portfolio, employees and trade name. Nederhof approached several candidates and found a suitable buyer in a medium-sized nationally operating accountancy organisation. It turned out that the father of the buyer’s negotiator and the seller used to be on the same cricket team, and had an instant click. The company and the employees were transferred by means of an asset transaction, immediate payment and an earnout. The two partners stored the files they had built over the years in the company’s building, which will soon be sold separately and be turned into apartments.
